Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS BOUJEE BIRDY ORIGINAL GLITTER?
Boujee Birdy Eco Glitter is a very friendly alternative to traditional plastic glitter. It has been developed to help tackle the problem of microplastic.
WHAT IS BOUJEE BIRDY CRUSHED ECO GLITTER/FRAGMENTS OR PIGMENT CHROMES?
Boujee Birdy Crushed Eco Glitter/fragments or pigment chromes, are a synthetic alternative to mica. They are vegan, cruelty free, plastic free and best of all, no children are used to mine. We are trying to tackle the problem of children who are being used to mine natural mica. Mining natural mica can cause lots of problems to children, due to the lack of health and safety. It can cause severe lung problems, shortness of breath or even death. If you want more information on Natural Mica, please watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeR-h9C2fgc
IS BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER SAFE TO USE COSMETICALLY?
Absolutely! It's safe for all cosmetics, including nails, hair and face. We love to mix our glitter pigments with our favourite mixing medium (Mehron Mixing Liquid) and use it as a face/body paint too. The options are endless! However, any crushed glitters, please be careful around the eyes. It's so fine! It has a lot of fall out, so therefore can fall into the eyes easily and can cause irritation. If this does happen, wash eyes with cold, sterile water. If irritation persists, please consult a doctor
HOW DO YOU APPLY BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER TO NAILS?
Once you have desired gel polish colour cured, press in glitter on to the tacky layer with either finger or brush. Dust off excess with our eco brush, and then apply a thin layer of builder base coat, cure. Finish off with shiny top coat and voila! Sparkles without any harm.

HOW DO I STICK BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER TO THE EYES/FACE?
To stick to the face, we love either a balm or, something that has a greasy texture to it. Put on desired area and spread very thin (less is more) and then place glitter on top. For the eyes, use a glitter primer/glue.

HOW DO I STICK BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER TO HAIR?
We love to use either hair gel or, aloe vera. Again, a small amount to desired area and then sprinkle your sparkles! To keep it extra secure, spray a thin layer of hairspray over the top.
WHAT IS BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER MADE FROM?
Boujee Birdy Original Eco Glitter is all natural and plant-derived, primarily from eucalyptus trees. The trees are sourced from responsibly managed and certified plantations. Any of our Eco Fragments, Crushed Glitters or Chromes are made in a lab. No natural mica is used & all of our ingredients are ethically sourced.

WHY BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER?
Micro plastic glitter is causing a major issues. In fact, plastic in general is causing major issues with our planet and food chains and doesn't degrade for hundreds of years. Boujee Birdy Original Glitter degrades in 90 days once it has hit the natural sources i.e. waste water.

ONCE BOUJEE BIRDY ORIGINAL GLITTER HAS DEGRADED, WHAT DOES IT TURN INTO?
Microbes will turn it into carbon dioxide, water and biomass

HOW DO I STORE BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER?
Keep it in a dark, dry, room temperature environment or drawer, out of direct sunlight.

WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN UNUSUAL NAMES FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL GLITTER?
I have incredible people in my life and I wanted to name it after them. Whether it's their name or their nickname or something associated with them. There are people who belong in your life, who make a great impact, good or bad.

WHY IS BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER IN GLASS JARS?
Glass is recycled everywhere.

WHY IS BOUJEE BIRDY GLITTER SENT IN NON FANCY PANCY PACKAGING?
I wanted everything about the brand to be recyclable. What do we do as soon as we open up all the packaging? We either recycle or throw it away. Having it wrapped in recycled paper is less cost all round. We are helping the environment and keeping the cost down of the glitter. If I did have fancy packaging, it then means more expensive glitter.
IS THE BOUJEE BIRDY LABEL BIODEGRADABLE?
Yes!
CAN YOU USE ECO GLITTER IN CANDLES?
Yes you can use in candles. It's all natural ingredients, so it burns efficiently, unlike plastic glitter.

DOES ECO GLITTER DISSOLVE IN WATER?
It does dissolve in marine water after 30 days. However, mixing it in everyday water or chemicals will not dissolve straight away. It may lose some pigment and colour. But obviously if left, it will start losing its structure and life longevity.

HOW DOES BIODEGRADABLE GLITTER WORK?
Our original biodegradable glitter works in many different ways. It can be used on nails, face, body and hair. It's a lot thinner and a lot more flexible and, this is great for cosmetic use. It only comes in hexagon shapes and can be used for many different purposes.

Our Eco chromium, crushed glitters, fragment flakes and eco metal glitters are also great for cosmetics, candles and most glitter purpose needs. Except, do not eat any of our glitters!

HOW IS BIODEGRADABLE GLITTER MADE?
Our original glitters are made from plants and eucalyptus. Our chrome, fragment flakes, crushed glitters and metal glitters are made in a lab. Unlike natural mica that is mined by children in India. We make ours in a lab to tackle this problem
EXTRA INFORMATION ABOUT THE JARS

The reason for the size of the jars, is all down to myself being a nail tech and makeup artist. A lot of glitter jars out there are either too small or have a very small neck/lids. You then have to pour out the glitter, which can cause a lot of mess and waste. This is not very cost efficient, I was very specific in what I wanted. A big lid/neck opening is perfect for holding a nail over the jar and sprinkling over the glitter. That way, the excess is then captured back into the jar, which means no waste. Not only that, I wanted the glass jar to have no labels on the bottom. If your like me and have a ton of jars in drawers, you never know what you have. This means going through all of them to find the 1 pot you need. However, this is designed for you to put in the drawer, upside down and easy peasy....you find the colour you want!

I think I have cover almost everything. But just incase I haven't and there is something you need to know, please email myself at info@boujeebirdy.co.uk
